Press Release

  • The Alabama State Department of Education is again honoring educators across Alabama with its 3rd Annual Thank Alabama Teachers observance.
  • This year’s campaign begins on November 1 and extends throughout the entire month.
  • Thank Alabama Teachers Month has been made official by proclamation of Governor Kay Ivey who is calling on individuals, businesses, and communities across the state to express gratitude for our teachers during this special month.
  • Nick’s Kids Foundation has partnered with the Alabama State Department of Education to bring awareness to the campaign and deepen support of Alabama teachers by providing two Iron Bowl tickets in kind. These tickets will be given to one lucky teacher during the month of November. Nomination details can be found at weteachalabama.com/thank-teachers/.
  • Our Alabama teachers are more than just educators. They’re counselors, coaches, mentors, and friends, and they are pivotal in shaping those who are the future of our state.
  • There’s no wrong way to say, ‘thank you.’ We encourage all Alabamians to show gratitude in their own ways, however we have provided a ‘Thank You Generator’ of unique appreciation ideas at weteachalabama.com/thank-teachers/.
  • In addition to these ideas, we encourage Alabamians to post a photo or video saying ‘thanks’ to a current or past teacher in their lives and using the hashtag #ThankALTeachers in post copy.
